Happy Mentoring Month!

I’m Hannah Noel, a DeBruce Career Corps member, and I have some exciting news to share: I got a new job! Starting this semester, I will be working at my college, mentoring new students in the advising center.

To prepare for my interview, I talked quite a bit with my mentors. We discussed ways I could accentuate how my top Agilities would make me a great candidate for the position. A quick chat with them really helped me succeed, because I knew exactly what I wanted to highlight about myself in the interview, and I was ready to put my best foot forward.

In this new position, I hope to build lasting connections with students and aid them in accomplishing their goals. Thank you to each of you who mentor and help others along — I can’t wait to do the same!

From the outset, she has dedicated her career to improving the quality of life for others: “From teacher to school administrator, administrator to leading research to improve education, to now serving as Executive Director and COO of The DeBruce Foundation, each step has informed and inspired my belief in empowering people to succeed in their careers.” Read Leigh Anne’s interview.

Building Networks and Expanding Career Paths

DeBruce Career Corps members recently spent time at The DeBruce Foundation, practicing the fine art of networking! A few of their favorite conversation starters:

  • What was one of your favorite jobs when you were younger?
  • What is your favorite type of vacation?
  • What advice do you have for high school students?

During National Mentoring Month, we encourage you to make new connections and help others expand their networks! Together, we can build resilient careers.
