It’s graduation season, and SaDerra Gill, a 2024 graduate and DeBruce Career Corps member was kind enough to share a glimpse into her life, her Agilities, and advice and resources for her fellow graduates. Read on below:

SaDerra, tell us a little about you:

Hello! My name is SaDerra Gill, and I am a graduating senior from North Kansas City High School. I am graduating from Northtown with an IB diploma. I’ve been involved in a bunch, such as Black Student Union, Future Business Leaders of America, Varsity Cheer, Women’s Empowerment, and Journalism just to name a few. In the fall, I’ll be majoring in Health Sciences at Kansas State University

What are your top three Agilities©?

My top three Agilities are Serving and Caring, Developing Others, and Managing. I believe that these three Agilities exemplify who I am as a person, and they align with my personal and career goals. I’ve always had a warm heart for helping others and I also like to help guide people.

What’s your favorite tool in the Graduation Toolkit?

My favorite tool in the Graduation Toolkit – hands down – is the Income Estimator. I love the interactive simulations and examples. I believe this tool could be helpful to other grads because, once we are done with high school, most of us will move on into the unknown. This tool allows you to pick the lifestyle you want, gives you a range of what your income should be, and then allows you to do an exploration of careers that could potentially match that.

What do you want to tell your fellow 2024 graduates?

Class of 2024, we made it!! Continue to be the change-makers, the trailblazers, and the dreamers who dare to defy the odds and make the impossible possible. Let’s write our own stories, carve our own paths, and leave a legacy that will inspire generations to come.
