How do I join the DeBruce Career Corp?
Let us know you’re interested in becoming a member by emailing [email protected]. You will get connected to the DBCC coordinator to learn more about next steps. You’ll be able to ask specific questions and learn more about the Career Corps before deciding to join. When you’re ready to join, you’ll complete a membership information form and you’ll be ready to join your first DBCC meeting.
Is there a specific set of skills I need to be a member?
The DeBruce Career Corp welcomes all new members and provides opportunities for you to grow your communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. You are not required to have any specific skills or to know any specific information in order to join the DBCC.
What is the flexibility in the work for the members of the DBCC?
As a member of the DBCC, you have the option to join in on events or feedback opportunities. You are not required to attend meetings or events. We would love for you to join in and participate when you are available!
How often do we have meetings and events?
Our standard group meetings are once a month, typically on Monday evenings for an hour and a half. The current membership determines the day of the week and approximate time for group meetings. The High School Cohort and the College & Early Career Cohort alternate between cohort-only meetings and full group meetings.
What are the advantages of working alongside The DeBruce Foundation?
As a member of the DBCC, you’ll have access to meet and network with senior leadership at The DeBruce Foundation where you’ll be able to learn leadership, product development, and have a voice in making change to support others in expanding their career pathways. You’ll also be able to develop relationships, giving you access to developing your own career literacy.
What are some opportunities the DBCC offers?
You’ll receive regular updates on micro-internship opportunities, networking opportunities both virtually and in-person, compensation for sharing your viewpoint to solve authentic problems, and the chance to develop essential skills through your participation.
How are members compensated for their time?
Members are compensated for their time to attend DBCC meetings, events, as well as independent projects with digital gift cards, allowing our membership to be from anywhere in the United States.
