March is Women’s History Month! I’m celebrating leaders who have shaped history, one being Dolores Huerta, a living civil rights icon who famously coined the slogan, “Sí, se puede,” Spanish for “Yes, we can,” during her activism with the United Farm Workers of America union in 1972.

While many people think the Inspecting Agility is only about scanning for details or checking product quality, I see it more as a guide. It is my top Agility, and I often use it in my work with The DeBruce Foundation to ask a simple question: Does this align with our core values, and will it help us reach our future goals? I like to imagine that Dolores Huerta might also have Inspecting as one of her top Agilities. Throughout her activism, she used her beliefs as a compass, pushing for a higher standard of quality of life for agricultural workers.

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, Huerta’s legacy reminds us that impactful work begins with a standard worth upholding. When our Inspecting Agility is rooted in purpose, expanding pathways to economic growth and opportunity isn’t just a mission statement; it’s a movement.
