When I was younger, I often second-guessed myself—I think I’m good at this, but how would that fit into a career? or I love doing that, but can I really make a job out of it? Now I’m an actor, a student building my career path, and I’m passionate about making the world better. I’m excited to work with The DeBruce Foundation on their resources like Agilities Kids, a series of animated videos designed to help kids discover their own strengths in a fun and engaging way!

The Agilities help kids put words to their skills, build confidence, and see what’s possible for their future. These videos work in tandem with new resources created for K-12 classrooms. Imagine a kid coming home from school and saying, “Today was awesome! We had a group project and my teacher told me I’m great at Managing, which made me feel really good.” That’s the kind of impact we’re making: empowering kids to know their strengths and explore the possibilities ahead!

I’m so proud to be part of this project. Check out Agilities Kids on YouTube and help the next generation dream big!

Agilities© Kids: Developing Others

In this month’s Agilities© character highlight, meet one of our new Agilities characters – Developing Others!

Developing Others helps you support and encourage others by mentoring, coaching, or teaching. People with this Agility like giving their friends a chance to learn or enjoy cheering them on. Developing Others could be as simple as helping a teammate or showing a grandparent how to use their phone. Watch the video for an overview of Developing Others, how this Agility can help at school, home, or a future job, and how to practice using this Agility.

February is Career & Technical Education Month

At The DeBruce Foundation, we value all K-12 teachers who prepare their students for bright futures. This month we want to give a shout-out specifically to Career & Technical Education (CTE) educators!

The DeBruce Foundation’s K-12 resources are designed to advance this important work by helping students connect their current skills and interests to future opportunities in high-demand careers.

CTE educators can visit our K-12 Career Literacy page to gain access to these free resources!

His commitment, first motivated by a diagnosis in his family, even led to the treatment that would aid in his own survival against cancer years later.

Positovely impacting others by using Agilities

In this month’s blog, Jenae Lee, DeBruce Career Corps member, reflects on the importance of Agilities in her role as a Certified Nurse Assistant. She discusses how using Agilities like Judging and Estimating and Serving and Caring allows her to better understand and empathize with nursing home residents.

“Despite the challenges that come with caregiving, it is incredibly rewarding. I cherish the connections I build with residents and the opportunity to make them feel heard and cared for.”
