Happy October!

I love working with The DeBruce Foundation because I’m personally passionate about helping others expand their career pathways. As a consultant, I get to help The Foundation with really dynamic work in the space of communications, partnerships, and special projects.

Recently, I had the opportunity to use my “Developing Others” Agility to work with members of The DeBruce Career Corps, Sidney and Brian, to help them prepare for a speaking event. Sidney and Brian interviewed Tiffany Dufu as part of the United WE 30th Anniversary Event in Kansas City, and they were fantastic!

Improving Experiences for Adult Learners

Higher education was upended in many ways over the last 19 months, especially affecting adult learners.

Thanks to our research partners, our recently released report outlines the impact on adult learners, innovations and solutions that arose during this time, and insights to improve experiences for adult learners now and in the future.

You can now read and download the practice report, final report, and one-page recommendation checklist! Get started

Virtual Reality + Workforce Development

Our partnership with Goodwill of Western Missouri & Eastern Kansas leverages virtual reality technology to help individuals develop their Agilities and workforce skills.

“…The goal of these sessions is to have people practice the uncomfortableness of using these work activities in the safe space, so when they encounter them in the real world, they’re more comfortable in dealing with them.”

Learn more about this initiative from Senior Director, Daryl Williams, and Anita Davis of Goodwill via a recap of a recent Future of Work roundtable.

College Students Supporting College Students

Big thanks to the DeBruce Career Corps for helping plan and lead another vShips Success Workshop!

From explaining the power of knowing their Agilities, to reflecting on career decisions, to sharing tips from their own internships, they helped college students across the nation prepare to find, land, and succeed in an internship. Thank you Ralanda, Imani, Kyra, and Justin!

Expanding Pathways at We Work for Change

At We Work for Change, hosted by United WE, DeBruce Career Corps members Sidney and Brian had the opportunity to lead a Q&A session with keynote speaker Tiffany Dufu!

In this month’s blog, Sidney reflects on her experience, what she learned about career pathways from the leaders she met, and the advice she won’t soon forget.
