Hello!
Have you ever figured out something complicated and struggled to explain it? Or have you looked at a chart and gotten a bit lost?
Me too, and it’s one reason why I work in data visualization. My name is Christopher Laubenthal, and I am The DeBruce Foundation’s new Data Design Manager. In short, I contribute to efficiency and effectiveness through the visualization of information.
Data visualization is all about the reader; it’s all about you. And The DeBruce Foundation is dedicated to helping you better understand yourself in a manner that expands pathways to economic growth and opportunity. I get to use charts and dashboards to lift others up and support change — exciting stuff. Can’t wait to share it. Stay tuned!
Preparing for successful, Agile careers
Watch out world, these fantastic first-year students are coming your way! We had a blast with the University of Missouri-Kansas City Summer Bridge Scholars Program, an intensive 8-week experience for incoming first-year students to prepare them for a successful college career.
Together with UMKC and DeBruce Foundation staff, students explored their Agilities, expanded their networks, and mapped out the next steps in their education and career journeys. Learn about using Agilities in higher education.

Leveraging Agilities in school programming
Kudos to our friends at Frontier Schools for their commitment to investing in, mentoring, and developing their students!
Poet T.L. Sanders, Senior College Counselor and Program Director, recently went through our Certified Agilities Coach training, and he is already leveraging our career literacy resources in new school programming.

“This is a time when we really have to look at return on investment…what is that cost of education? What kind of salary or other benefits can you expect to receive when you get out? Creating social change through internships
Congratulations to our organizational partner, Startland Education, and their Social Change Interns for the impact they created through their internship with ProX Summer!
Over 5 weeks, interns created, tested out, and presented real-world solutions to social issues in their communities – all while gaining work skills and exploring career opportunities that will help them continue to pursue their interests, skills, and passions. Check out their solutions.
